Financial Policy for Lilette Daumas, MD
As a courtesy to you, we will call your insurance to verify coverage and get a summary of benefits. Remember, verification of coverage and benefits given over the phone by an insurance representative or from their web site to you or to one of our office staff is NEVER a guarantee of payment. The claims adjuster will determine payment under current policy provisions when the claim is received by your insurance.
Your insurance will only pay for services that it determines to be reasonable and necessary by its own definition. If your insurance determines that a particular service is not a covered service under policy provisions, your insurance will deny payment for that service. You are then responsible for the charges in full.
Our office staff will be happy to discuss our fees with you prior to seeing the physician. We want our patients to understand our fees and feel confident that they are getting the best medical care available. Payment in full will be requested for each visit before you leave. You will be provided with a detailed itemization of charges at the time of payment for the visit, which will also indicate that your account is paid in full. We will ask for payment of co-pays, co-insurance amounts and any deductibles. At this time you will be given any prescriptions that the medical staff deems necessary for your health and an appointment card as a reminder of any future appointments if needed.

Our clinic has implemented a new service called SureScripts. This is an electronic system for handling new prescriptions and medication refills with pharmacies.
